December 26, 2003 NORTH FOREST BEACH -- RADIO DOVE
Our newest street treat came from Radio Station 104.9 who did a live feed broadcast from Dove Street during a prerecorded holiday music set performed by local musicians.
DUKE OF DOVE
An acapella quintet improvisation of the Duke of Earl by residents and visitors alike topped off our incredible Christmas Eve extravaganza. A high tenor and a low base made the Duke proud.
SANTA STREET SHOW
Our street was fortunate this year to have many visits from Santa who was on R&R for a few days just prior to his N. Pole run. He managed to squeeze in a round of golf at Old South and shot an 81, thus was in an excellent mood for passing out candy canes to the kids and dog treats for our 4-legged friends. He even arranged to have his “mini-me” S.I.T. (Santa–In-Training) hovering below on two days accomplishing mini missions for the big guy.
INDY CLAWS
Our red collared rein-dog heard a visitor suggest to local light engineers that they had “more than one bulb loose”. He also noticed that beach snow, which looks a lot like bubbles, is not partial to freezing temperatures.
SEEN ON THE STREET
- Just married visitors came by to say they were engaged on the street two years ago. He asked for her hand on bended knee. She said yes!
- A record number of animals including twin poodles and a number of humans wearing antlers came by. Some dogs hung out of their cars with eyes as big as any of the kids.
- Another little girl told her parents the day after her visit that she had changed her mind about what she wanted and needed to go back to Dove Street to tell Santa.
