December 31, 2006 -- SANTAS BACK.
Santa and SIT (Santa-In-Training) took a break from their delivery schedule to visit with young & old alike. A touching moment occurred with one mother wanting to send a picture with Santa to her son, a soldier in Iraq.
NOTES FROM THE WELL.
Holly Jolly Julie Jilly and her group of happy elves had a record setting year at Coligny Plaza. Highlights include: Little children in pjs wanting to drop presents and food in the well, a skateboarding Mini-Me Santa, young Irish “riverdancers” on the stage, a mom and 12 year old delivering a van load of presents which took up an entire parking space.
TALK OF THE TOWN.
After speaking to the Rotary Club in Sea Pines on November 28, we were interviewed by Ed McCullough for the WHHI program. The 6th annual Dove Street poster created by Ben Ham was showcased during the broadcast.
CHEERS ON DOVE STREET.
A team of girls from Island Cheerleading Academy performed at Coligny Plaza. After a wonderful version of a Christmas carol in sign language, they were seen in a convertible with top down under the lights of Dove. They even performed a cheer for us.
A LITTLE LIGHT MUSIC.
Carols were plentiful with groups from St. Lukes, St. Andrews by the Sea, and The Harbour Church singing under the lights. An unexpected gift came by way of The Miami (Ohio) Glee Club. They were in town to sing for the alumni group and just stopped by in a huge bus with two vans to sing for us. Wow!.
Circulation: A few feet in multiple directions.
