December 21, 2001 -- COLIGNY PLAZA JOINS THE FUN!
The area outside of Rita's Italian Ice, ocean side at Coligny Plaza, will be staffed by volunteers each day between 3pm and 9pm through December 24, to receive Deep Well donations. Free refreshments, courtesy of local merchants, will be provided.
LIGHT ACCUMULATION
Have you noticed the snow-like clouds of bubbles drifting down Dove Street. Here's the good news - there will no significant accumulation so leave your skis in the closet.
DOVE ST. DOCUMENTARY
A film crew from WHHI TV Channel 3 interviewed local residents last week. You can see it most nights at 8pm. Topics discussed included the hand-made reindeer, the patriotic displays, and frosty's debris-mobile with its unusual caboose.

Articles including pictures of our street were published in several island magazines this winter including The Hilton Head Monthly and Island Events.
10TH YEAR REVISITED
Ten years ago in a a similar season,
A baby girl came, and gave us a reason
To light the magnolia tree on Rue Dove,
And many lights more on the oak trees above.
We knew that our hearts weren’t two sizes too small,
But we knew that our tree was three sizes too tall.
How could we reach the uppermost branches,
Without our taking incredible chances?
The ladder alone could reach only so high,
But with a long pole we could reach to the sky.
People who came down the street asked to pay
Our light bills, received on the previous day.
We said “No”, then decided to tell,
That a much better purpose would be The Deep Well.
House after house began then to light
Beautiful strings: blue, red, green and white.
The traffic increased year after year,
Presents and food for The Well did appear.
So when you drive by look up in the tree,
A beautiful dove with ten stars you will see.
A star for each year… it’s a wonderful show.
We’re glad you came by, and we want you know.
